MEMBER RULES OF USE
By subscribing to the S/HPNA Talk e-mail list, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1) You will follow good netiquette. The “Good Netiquette” site <http://www.albion.com/netiquette/corerules.html> provides useful information on e-mail communication.
2) The Shasta/Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association, its Board of Directors, and the members thereof, are not liable to you or any third party for your use of this service. You shall indemnify and hold harmless the Shasta/Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association, its officers, directors, members, and affiliates from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the service, the violation of these terms and conditions by you, or the infringement by you of any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity.
3) List members should respond to requests for information directly to the person who requested the information and not to the whole list. List members who request information should post a summary back to the list once they have received all the responses.
4) List members should not engage in one-on-one discussions on the list. If you have a topic that is of interest to just a few list members, please take it offline. You may wish to post a message to the list that you are taking a discussion offline and if members want to participate, they should e-mail you directly. List members engaged in a private discussion may want to post a summary back to the list once the discussion is complete.
5) You will not make personal attacks on other people. Be as courteous to your neighbors online as you would be in person.
6) Sign each of your posts with your name and general address (e.g. South Morrison St., or Tillman x. Hester). If you do not live in the neighborhood, but are posting an inquiry to the list, state your affiliation (e.g. “Considering buying a house in the neighborhood”). You should not post to the list using an alias.
7) The “subject:” line of your e-mail should explicitly state what the general nature of your inquiry is. If you are posting an inquiry about nearby dog parks, for instance, the subject: line could say “Dog Park information”.
8) The list of member e-mail addresses may not be distributed.
9) E-mail from the list should not be reposted elsewhere without permission of the author. Do not send or forward private e-mail to the list without the author's permission.
10) You are solely responsible for your communications through this e-mail list. You assume full responsibility for any unlawful, threatening, libelous, obscene, harassing, abusive, or offensive material contained in your communications through this service; any infringement of third-party intellectual property rights arising from your communications through this service, or any crime facilitated by your communications through this service. Your use of this service is subject to all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. Your use of this service is subject to Internet regulations, policies and procedures. You will not use the service for chain letters, junk mail, or spamming.
List members who disregard list rules may be warned by the list moderator. Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent removal from the list.
The Shasta/Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association may terminate the service without cause at any time and effective immediately. S/HPNA, its Board of Directors, and the members thereof, are not liable to you or any third party for discontinuance or modification of this service.
