Your Old House: Guide for Preserving San José Homes
This document is a set of design guidelines that describes how to rehabilitate the exterior of San José’s old homes in a way that is sensitive and thoughtful in order to maintain the character of individual homes as well as neighborhoods. The design guidelines were prepared through a coordinated effort by the San José Redevelopment Agency, Housing Department, and the Department of Planning Building and Code Enforcement. Building permits for homes in Historic Districts and Conservation Areas will soon be subject to these guidelines. Available in color at the Planning Department counter or in Black and white via download, San_Jose_DGs.pdf (47.6 MB)
