How to Get the Most Out of Your HOA

How to Get the Most Out of Your HOA

Having management Community Associations or "Homeowners Associations" over the past 14 years, I have run into quite a few different and sometime difficult situations.  I learned that the best way for owners to get the most out of community living is for them to get involved and stay informed.  Here are a few tips on how to do just that:

Attend Meetings of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors makes the decisions that affect the way the Association is managed. These decisions are made at Board Meetings.  Whether the Association meets monthly, every other month, or quarterly, this is the best way to stay informed about what is happening at your property and what you can do to participate. By attending Board meetings, you can learn about decisions that may be made at future meetings and how you can help influence decisions on the matters that concern you.
