On April 19, 2011 San Jose City Council unanimously approved changing the Airport’s noise reporting procedure with a modification suggested by Council member Sam Liccardo.
In addition to moving to an annual report with monthly summaries posted on the Airport’s website, he recommended that the monthly noise summaries should also include:
- The total number of complaints, and not just curfew intrusions;
- A summary indicating the time of curfew intrusions; and
- The number of complaints or intrusions attributable to either general or commercial aviation
- In addition, he asked that the more descriptive quarterly reports continue to remain available on the Airport's website along with the monthly noise summaries.
